Preparation Time:  30 Minutes

Serves: Several Times

Features: Spicy, Can be Stored for longer periods of time

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cup Chickpea flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • for deep frying and greasing the mold Vegetable oil

Steps

In a mixing bowl, add chickpea flour, asafoetida, red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt. Mix it well.

Add water and knead the flour well to make stiff dough.

The dough is ready.

Divide the dough into 2 equal portions. Take one portion of the dough and roll it using your palm and put it in the sev mold. (refer video)

press the sev maker directly in the hot oil in a circular motion as shown below in the image.

Deep fry it on a medium to low flame till it is light golden and crisp.

Take out the fried sev on a tissue paper to get rid of an extra oil.

Crush it using your hands. Put it in a airtight container and enjoy it with your tea.
