Poha
Ingredients
- 2 cup Flattened rice
- 7-8 Curry leaves
- 3/4 cup Peanuts
- 1 medium size Onion
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves
- 1/4 cup Vegetable oil
- 2-3 Green chili
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp Fennel seeds
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- to taste Salt
Instructions
- Keep all the ingredients ready for poha. In a wok, heat oil and temper with mustard, cumin and fennel seeds, & Curry leaves.
- When the seeds start crackling add peanuts. Roast it on a low flame till it is light golden in color. Keep stirring.
- Add onion and fry it for 1 minute.
- Add turmeric powder and green chili. Cook for another 30 seconds.
- Add washed Poha and salt. Mix it well. Cook for 2-3 minutes on a medium flame.
- Add chopped coriander leaves, Delicious poha is ready to serve. Serve hot.
This one is a Maharashtrian style Poha, but you really don’t need to be from Maharashtra to enjoy it. Follow the steps mentioned below to prepare this at home.
It takes less than 15 minutes and you will have something ready to eat for that little hunger that strikes between 5 to 7.
