Poha

Check out the Recipe of Crunch Poha, a delicious tea time snack which is very popular in Central India. Prepare and keep it aside, to munch during a cricket match or an interesting movie you are watching along with your family.

Ingredients

  • 2 cup Flattened rice
  • 7-8 Curry leaves
  • 3/4 cup Peanuts
  • 1 medium size Onion
  • 1 tbsp Coriander leaves
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable oil
  • 2-3 Green chili
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • to taste Salt

Instructions

  • Keep all the ingredients ready for poha. In a wok, heat oil and temper with mustard, cumin and fennel seeds, & Curry leaves.
  • When the seeds start crackling add peanuts. Roast it on a low flame till it is light golden in color. Keep stirring.
  • Add onion and fry it for 1 minute.
  • Add turmeric powder and green chili. Cook for another 30 seconds.
  • Add washed Poha and salt. Mix it well. Cook for 2-3 minutes on a medium flame.
  • Add chopped coriander leaves, Delicious poha is ready to serve. Serve hot.
